KRRISH 3….It’s a sequel to Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish, This will be our very first franchise of superhero movie from Bollywood. Rakesh Roshan was bold enough to introduce us to an Alien years back and then a Superhero was born later on, All that is appreciated but still we need to concentrate on few things when it comes to a superhero movie, they do have all the ingredients required, but it terribly fails where Krrish survived and Krrish 3 fails. A movie of this genre requires a gripping screenplay with little melodrama, whereas here we see a lot of drama.
Hrithik Roshan is the only face known to us a superhero when it comes to Indian main stream cinema. He dons the role of Rohit,Krishna and Krrish convincingly and has done a good job, but it’s high time he needs a proper hit to re-establish his career. Which I believe “Shuddhi” will revive. Vivek Oberoi as the nemesis was pictured well, his flushed out pale look did bring in some grimm to the role, but in the later half all that impression blows away with poor characterization by the director. Priyanka Chopra had a short role, another one to look for was Kangna Ranaut who played a role of a mutant and did a good job at it.
When there a is superhero, the evil rises and the good fights against it by saving the world at the end of the day. That’s the outline of this flick as well, but could have executed with original ideas, you end up seeing all the Hollywood super heroes flashing in front of the screen for 2 hours and 45 minutes. There is Batman, Superman, Spiderman, The Hulk, Ironman,Wolverine, Magneto and Professor X. The characters in the movie are rip off from these characters. We all crave for superhero flicks and the action is always larger than life which is unbelievable, well that’s the whole idea of it, no argument to it. But you need to put them well in place for the audience to accept it. This movie was made keeping just the kids in mind,who will enjoy it thoroughly.
The VFX was very sketchy throughout, only at few places it was well made, for example when Kangna tries to shift her shape in to another human. When it comes to action scenes which requires more attention to details it fails to fulfill the frame with effects. Rajesh Roshan’s music was not good, but Salim-Sulaiman’s background score was great. The total budget of this flick is 250 crores, if it was then they have wasted it on wrong people,with such an budget we expect more class and quality entertainment.If you go in expecting a superhero movie, it will disappoint you, If you have kids take them they will love you, but you will hate the time spent at the cinema.
I wish I could say KRRISH 3 is a great treat for Diwali, unfortunately it isn’t. From the looks of it, they have already planned a Krrish 4, hope they improve with the next sequel. Happy Diwali Folks!!!!
