As an extension of the South India 101 series, Culture Machine’s digital channel ‘Put Chutney’ continues to entertain the audience with their third video titled ‘The Veshti’.
The Veshti (“Dhoti” as it is called North of the Vindhyas) is hailed as a traditional attire for men. Right from politicians who wear this as their birth right with party colours on the border that symbolize their respective party, to the silk Veshti that is traditionally acclaimed as a symbol of compassion and prosperity, Veshti, plays a major part in the life of a man from the south of India.
Right from the popular actor Ajith Kumar in Veeram to the emerging super star of south Nivin Pauly in Premam, they have literally been labelled as brand ambassadors of the ‘Veshti’. It tickles the rib bones when you find a Bollywood film referring to Veshti as Lungi and also composing a peppy song on it.
Put Chutney, a digital channel that is constantly creative with their entertaining content, dedicates this video to the eco-friendly and socially respected ‘Veshti’.
