I Soundtrack Review

The much awaited soundtrack of the year is out, AR Rahman’s soundtrack always has a different approach when it comes to his directors like Shankar and Mani Ratnam. This one is no exception, well it will be received with mixed response, as few tracks are meant to be felt with the spectacular visuals, where just the audio won’t be enough.

Track #1 & 7 “Merasalaayitten” & “Merasalaayitten(Remix)” This track is sung by the current sensation and the kolaveri boy Anirudh along with Neeti Mohan. This track is bound to top the charts with it’s fast and peppy feel to it, Anirudh sounds different in this track, you can call it ARR’s composition or Anirudh’s is maturing in to a different level.

Track #2 & 6 “Ennodu Nee Irundhaal” is sung by Sid Sriram & Sunitha Sarathy, I would say a good choice for a duet Sid has the feel which “Adiye(Kadal)” gives you, and when it comes to Sunitha I can only think of one track till date “Khuda Hafiz(Yuva)” her voice is magical. There is another version of the same track “Ennodu Nee Irundhaal(Reprise)” in which we have Chinmayi lending the vocals along with Sid, which makes this version more pleasant with her mystical voice.

Track#3  “Ladio” sung by Nikita Gandhi gives the pop feel with her husky voice, building quite a tempo.

Track#4 “Pookkalae Sattru Oyivedungal“, Haricharan brings the romance alive with the most sweetest voice in the industry Shreya Ghoshal, she does not need any special mention as she is special enough as it is.

Track#5 “Aila Aila” sung by Aditya Rao and Natalie Di Luccio, Aditya makes a commendable impression with Natalie’s operatic skills which gives a great feel to the whole track, she is an Canadian singer, we heard her earlier in “Anbin Vaasale (Italian Reprise)” from the movie “Kadal“.

This sums up the soundtrack of “I” composed by AR Rahman, lyrics penned by Karky & Kabilan, It’s available on iTunes and will be in stores from today. People who are going to be at the Launch are lucky and those who are not will get a chance to watch the spectacle soon on Television.
