Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavaanikalum….The title was interesting, released along with a blockbuster “Maan Karate” thought this will be shadowed, well the opinion was changed once I watched this flick today. Director Chimbu Deven known for Imsai Arasan 23m Pulikesi,Arai En 305-il Kadavul & Irumbukkottai Murattu Singam which were unique concepts presented in a humorous way. That’s the case with OKMK. Even this movie has some fantasy involved. “Naradar” meets “Brahma” on a casual note, where Brahma tells Naradar that he would have missed him if he had been a minute late, to which Naradar replies how is that possible, whether it’s by a minute or two, If the fate is to meet we will meet, that leads to an argument between them, to which the case is taken for a verdict with “Lord Shiva” , who makes Naradar understand every minute fate changes, to support his verdict he asks Naradar to pick a human, that’s where Arulnithi comes into play, along with Bindu Madhavi and Bagavathi Perumal. This trio is set to kidnap “Tamil’s” girl friend “Isabella” played by Arulnithi and Ashritha Shetty respectively. This sequence is shown in 3 different perspective with an engaging screenplay.
This is the first movie of Arulnithi which I have watched and he is a promising actor who can be cast in various roles, he did a good job. Bindu Madhavi with her cropped look in tank top and jeans was tom boyish, she did a great job. Bagavathi Perumal previously seen in NKPK, makes you laugh so hard that it hurts, Arul and Bagavathi’s timing was in great sync. The rest of the supporting cast did their respective roles perfectly.
Chimbu Devan did it again with his different approach on story telling. The movie is on the run entire time and keeps you at the edge. Cinematography by S. R. Kathiir was great, editing by Raja Mohammed was tight. The movie had hardly any songs but the background score was perfect for the flick scored by Natarajan Sankaran.
Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavaanikalum is a good watch, If possible don’t miss it. It has all the elements required for a fun filled run, you will end up laughing throughout.
+’s – Great screenplay and direction with slapstick comedy.
