Gori Tere Pyaar Mein….This will be Punit Malhotra‘s second movie with Imran Khan after “I Hate Luv Storys”, In this one Imran Khan plays a spoiled rich kid who does not have any goal nor value in his life, one fine day meets the Gori Kareena Kapoor who is an environmentalist and is very ambitious. How these two different characters fall for each other is what follows. Imran plays Tam-Bram, looks like Bollywood is on a high Tamil fever these days, and it will not stop at this point for sure.
Imran Khan plays the role of a lover boy with ease and it suits him well, he is getting better with every movie, he is charming and breezy. It clearly shows that he has developed his dancing skills way better and was a delight to watch him dance to the catchy tunes. He has given a great performance as “Sriram“.
Kareena Kapoor Khan was a delight to watch in desi avatar and she made Imran look even better with her presence on screen, their on screen chemistry was really good. Kareena as Dia was feisty and bold and she gave an dynamic performance.
Shraddha Kapoor had a short stint but a pivotal one, very first presence of her on screen brings an amazing color to the situation, she was delectable and as an Tamilian she looked amazing, which she did pull that off well.
Nizhalgal Ravi who is a well known actor in Tamil Film industry did a great job as Imran Khan’s father, he gave an convincing performance and was a very good one. Anupam Kher was seen after a gap wearing his comic cap, and did a good job.
Punit Malhotra had the regular and repeated elements in this rom-com, but he did a fine job treating them in a different way, he balanced all the elements in right proportions. The romance factor was really romantic, cheesy moments were way cheesier and comedy was hilarious. It makes you laugh throughout.
Music was great by Vishal-Shekar, all the tracks were catchy. Whether its upbeat “Dhat Teri Ki” or lovely “Naina” or the romantic “Dil Duffer” or foot tapping “tooh” or the naughty “Chingam Chabake“, everyone of them were good. Background score by Salim-Sulaiman was good. Mahesh Limaye captured the urban and rural well, editing by Akiv Ali was sharp.
Gori Tere Pyaar Mein is a cool, breezy, candy floss love story. I’m sure this will draw the families in, who would not regret spending their hard earned bucks on this rom-com, which will leave them satisfied as this is a feel good romantic flick. Catch this with your loved ones “Chingam Chabake”, a perfect date movie.
