Goli Soda 2 is the story of how three youngsters who want to move up from their current position are prevented from doing so due to various reasons. Bharath Seeni is a henchman who is in love with Subiksha. Though Subiksha’s mother Rohini accepts their love she asks him to leave his job. He agrees to it and informs his boss about the decision. However, due to a few circumstances he rejoins the gang. Meanwhile, Isakki Bharath, a basket ball player who works as a server in a hotel, aspires to get a good job. He is in love with Krisha Kurup whose caste obsessed uncle separates them by force. Similarly, Vinod who is a autodriver dreams of owning a taxi. But he is cheated by a local councillor. How all these three youngsters overcome their problems and fulfil their dreams form the rest of the story.
Samuthirakani who comes as a medical shop owner acts as the connecting point of all these three characters. Bharath Seeni as the henchman looks convincing in the action and romance scenes, however there is still scope for improvement in the emotional section. Vinoth as the autodriver grabs the attention of the audience with his natural acting. Isakki Bharath comes as an energetic youngster and gets registered easily in the hearts of the viewers. Both the female leads have done complete justice to their characters and are impressive. Samuthirakani has a donned a different role in the movie and his motivational dialogues can be easily related by anyone.
Gautham Vasudev Menon who plays an extended cameo as police officer Raghavan is intense. On the downside, the first half of the movie starts slowly. However, it is compensated by the crisp screenplay in the second half. Vijay Milton’s cinematography is interesting and special mention has to be made about editor Deepak’s cuts. Songs by Achu Rajaamani are pleasant and the BGM is upto the mark as well.Goli Soda 2 carries the same theme as the first part, but with more commercial elements.
