Dhayam Movie Review

Dhayam thriller film written and directed by Kannan Rangaswamy and produced by A. R. S. Sunder. Entirely shot inside a single room, the film stars Santhosh Prathap, Jayakumar and Aira Agarval amongst others in leading roles. Featuring music composed by Sathish Selvam, cinematography by A. Packiaraj and editing by R. Sudharsan.

The story starts with an interview for the post CEO of a company. They pick 8 people as the final contestants. They are taken into a room. The company’s higher official lays a condition to all the contestants that the person, who stays in that room for one hour will be eligible to hold the CEO post. When the contestants start thinking it as a silly condition, there comes a twist. Yes, the ex-CEO of the company committed suicide by hanging himself in that particular room. Even after hearing this all the eight of them decided to stay in the room. A lot of interesting incidents happens after they decide to stay. What are those incidents? Who becomes the CEO?

Santhosh has done a dual role in the film. He has done justice to both the protagonist and antagonist roles. Jayakumar, Jiiva Ravi and ‘Kadhal’ Kannan are the known faces who match the newcomers with their expressions. Aira Agarwal, Anmol Sandhu and Sahana give the impression that they cannot act even if their lives depended on it. Sathish Selvam Music and background score impressive. A. Packiaraj Camera work stunning. Director Kannan has chosen a different script for his first attempt and has succeeded in it.
